The Reverend Thomas William Blake
The Vestry is pleased to announce that Reverend Thomas William Blake has been appointed as our new Priest in Charge (PIC).
Revd Blake was the Priest in Charge at The Episcopal Church of St. Catherine of Siena in Reno, Nevada. Prior to that he was the Rector for 13 years at Grace Episcopal Church in Muncie, Indiana. His background includes an Artium Baccalaureus in Public Policy Studies from Duke University and a Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary. Revd Blake is an active participant in General Convention activities of the National Church, where he is presently Deputy of the Legislative Committee on Social Justice in the US.
Revd Blake's professional career shows his commitments include faith formation for youth and adults, addressing poverty and food insufficiency in our communities, meaningful worship, and working with community leaders and fellow leaders of other faiths to do good work for all. His resume also shows his commitment to liturgy, the Prayer Book and church music.
To help the community learn more about Revd Blake and his thoughts about moving the church forward in these difficult times, we are providing a link for an interview he gave a few years ago. This message explains his thoughts on how the Church and its people can begin thinking about the Church of the present and future. The beginning of the interview also explains his introduction to the Episcopal Church. https://youtu.be/MDyswJBVJZQ
